Sanil Chawla, Founder and CEO of Slingshot, began coding in 2nd grade and worked on software consulting projects throughout middle and high school. At 16, he launched the non-profit Hack+ to provide students with the resources to operate their own nonprofits, events, and startups. His work and impact with Hack+ earned him a spot on the 2019 Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the Education category. While working at the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative during his time at USC’s Iovine and Young Academy, Sanil met numerous creatives who struggled with legal and financial tasks. This inspired him to start developing Slingshot in 2020, aiming to provide artists with automation, business infrastructure, and comprehensive support to better manage their careers. Sanil's background in coding and entrepreneurship, along with his dedication to fostering these skills among various groups, has shaped his approach to leading Slingshot in assisting artists and creators.
